THE HONG KONG RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF TEXTILES AND APPAREL (HKRITA)
The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) was established in April 2006 and hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. To enhance Hong Kong’s “cutting edge”, they have the funding support from Innovation and Technology Commission, HKSAR Government. HKRITA engages in applied research to support the textile and apparel industry in order to boost their overall competitiveness, and to drive sustainable improvements and bring benefits for society. By providing one-stop services for applied research, technology transfer and commercialisation, HKRITA makes sustained efforts to promote successful projects for industry application. HKRITA is also supported by institutes, companies and associations in the textile and clothing industry in Hong Kong, mainland China and other countries.
To foster sustainability in the retail and textile ecosystem in Hong Kong, LUXARITY focuses on supporting research project addressing the Sustainable Development Goals underlying the LUXARITY R.A.W. Values of: Responsibility.
LUXARITY raised $150,000 HKD to support HKRITA’s 2019 research project focused on recycling & up-cycling textiles.
