In weaving, the basic purpose of the loom is to hold the warped threads. In knitting, the basic structure contains multiple loops of yarn. Looming and looping are the fundamentals in knitting textiles. LOOM LOOP focuses on materials and adds value through integrating these intricate knitting techniques. Loom loop was founded by Polly Ho and Andy Wong, one is a dreamer the other is a perfectionist; it was a chance encounter with a 300-year-old heritage fabric.
When the designers saw the heritage fabric called the canton silk, they were bowled over by the artisan techniques employed to dye the silk, it uses plant based dye, river mud and solar power. They saw the potential of this forgotten fabric; they were driven to design high quality clothes that reflect its true value. The brand DNA has strong emphases on sustainable fashion and conservation of traditional craftsmanship. For each collection, they have east meets west concept to retelling stories of the past in the present. The past treasures are conserved and continued with their contemporary design and commitment in preservation of our heritage.
Loom Loop designed a shawl that can be wore in six different ways for the LUXARITY MADE IN LOVE Pop-up.
